Recorded summary

The LEOSA Reform Act of 2025 would expand the authority of qualified active and retired law enforcement officers to carry concealed firearms and ammunition, including magazines, across state lines. It would allow such carry in school zones, national parks, state, local, or private property open to the public, and certain federal facilities open to the public. It would also let states reduce how often retired officers must meet qualification standards.

Theological note: The bill concerns the bearing of arms and the means of lawful self-defense, which Scripture permits in principle as part of ordered civil life and the protection of neighbor. Its moral relevance turns on whether it restrains or endangers the innocent, respects the proper bounds of state and federal authority, and maintains competence in those who bear arms. These are largely prudential questions, not a direct advance of named evil.
