# H.R. 875 (119th): Jeremy and Angel Seay and Sergeant Brandon Mendoza Protect Our Communities from DUIs Act of 2025

Jeremy and Angel Seay and Sergeant Brandon Mendoza Protect Our Communities from DUIs Act of 2025 This bill makes driving while intoxicated or impaired a ground for (1) barring a non-U.S. national ( alien under federal law) from admission into the United States, or (2) deporting the individual. The bar to admission shall apply to an individual who has been convicted of the offense or has admitted to having committed the acts which constitute the elements of the offense. As a ground for deportability, the individual must have been convicted of the offense.

Polarity rationale: Reviewed enrichment (llm_import) polarity: The bill targets a real harm, impaired driving that endangers others, which is a legitimate public-safety concern. Using removal and inadmissibility as the consequence is a prudential and proportionality question rather than a direct advancement of moral evil, so the measure combines a genuine public-safety good with real concerns about immigration consequences.
Theological note: Scripture commends justice that protects the public from violence and recklessness, and it calls rulers to deal honestly with danger to neighbors. Impaired driving endangers lives. The measure also raises equity questions about how civil consequences such as removal are applied to non-citizens for a single offense, and about proportion in the law's treatment of sojourners.
